Some Personal Notes

Before we get started telling everyone a little bit about ourselves we want to thank everyone for coming to visit our homepage for our wedding.

The Groom

Here is a little bit about myself. I am the son of Kate Austin and John Bachman. I am the youngest of three, being 28 years old. I have a brother John who is 35 and a sister Kelly who is 31 years old. I also have two step brothers who are younger then me, their names are Gary Brobst, 28 and Joey Brobst, 23. Gary and his wife, Katie are enjoying a new son named Brandon. My parents are divorced and now are re-married. My dad's wife's name is Karen and my mother's husband's name is Art. I work for General Motors and I am also in the Air Force reserves. Some of the things that I enjoy doing are playing golf and working in the yard. I am also a sports fanatic. I am split between the Pennsylvania teams. I like the Sixers and the Phillies and I like the Steelers and the Penguins. So right now the Penguins are in a Stanley Cup hunt so I am glued to the television watching them…GO PENNS! I am a Delaware native as I grew up in Delaware all my life. I own a home in Dover, DE of which we rent out and we reside in Lisa's home (2 cats included) in Wilmington. I went to school in Smyrna, DE and wrestled for the mighty Eagles. I am also currently enrolled in the Community College of the Air Force working on an Associates degree in Criminal Justice.

The Bride

Now it's my turn to tell you a little bit about myself…I am the daughter of Pat and Joe Cunning, who live about one mile from us in Wilmington. It's a pleasure having them close by and now that summer is approaching we will be "grilling" on their deck soon-Kenny loves a good steak (and a free meal)!! I have a younger sister, Nancy who lives in Pittsburgh, PA with her husband, Joe and son, Jake. We try to visit them as often as we can. Living in Pittsburgh has it's advantages for Kenny (and now me) being Penguins fans as we have been able to go to the games in their hometown! I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling, crafts and of course --- shopping. I also enjoy supporting and participating in events to raise money for Special Olympics (of which my friends and I plunge into the ocean in February ) and Breast Cancer Research/Awareness (of which my friends and I walk in a 5K race in Philadelphia). I was born in Virginia and then lived in North and South Carolina. I have lived in Wilmington for 23 years. I went to Brandywine High School and then on to college at the University of Delaware and Thomas Jefferson University. I am an occupational therapist and have worked with children in homes and schools for 8 years now.

Some Personal Notes

For those of you who do not know…Kenny and I were introduced to each other by friends about 2 and a half years ago. Having talked on the phone each night for a few hours the week before the date-we wondered if we would have anything to talk about on the date! Well, as you can see, we did! We put a lot of miles on our cars traveling back/forth between Wilmington and Dover (about 1 hour away). We enjoyed getting to know each other's family and friends!! In July of last year, Kenny "set me up" to believe that we won a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in Dover (I also enjoy a free meal)! I was excited about this and told my family about the meal (unbeknownst to me that Kenny had spoken to my parents about his planned proposal)! Needless to say, I was speechless (as the picture shows) as Kenny got down on his knee after the meal with the waitress holding the ring under a dessert platter! The restaurant was clapping when I said "YES"!
